Our Angadi School of Architecture 3rd Semester students, guided by Prof. Archana B, had an enriching case study visit to Goa!
This trip was a deep dive into context-driven and expressive regional architecture, featuring key visits to two masterpieces:
Nisha’s Play School: A firsthand study of how design can create a vibrant, stimulating, and culturally sensitive learning environment for children.
Houses of Goa Museum: Exploring the unique evolution of Goan residential architecture—a beautiful blend of local traditions and Portuguese colonial influence.
A Masterclass with Gerard da Cunha
The highlight of the tour was the special interaction with the brilliant architect, Gerard da Cunha, who is the mind behind both the play school and the museum. Our students gained invaluable perspectives on sustainable practices, the use of local materials, and designing with narrative and character.
Huge thanks to Ar. Gerard da Cunha for sharing his time and wisdom with the next generation of architects! The lessons learned on site will profoundly influence their approach to design projects.
